Private sector landlords and letting agents are being invited to join the latest in a series of free events to help them keep up to date with legal changes to the private rented sector.
Daventry District Council (DDC) is hosting its latest Landlords’ Forum at the Council Chamber in Lodge Road on Wednesday 14 November from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
The event will feature a talk on fire safety and risk assessments by Ian Grieve of Northampton Fire and Rescue Service.
Nick Drake of DDC’s environmental services partner Daventry Norse will provide an overview of the services it provides, and the Council’s Housing Options Team will give a presentation on its private sector leasing scheme.
Finally Linda Cobb of DASH Services and Teresa Kaczmarek of the National Landlords Association (NLA) will provide an update on data protection regulations and what’s coming up for the Private Rented Sector.
There will be a free buffet and an opportunity to network with the speakers as well as fellow landlords and letting agents.
The forum is supported by DASH, which is the region’s leading provider of housing advice and information for the private rented sector.
Councillor Richard Auger, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Environmental Health on DDC, said: “The aim of the forum is to keep landlords up to date with important information and offer good practice suggestions to help them comply with their legal responsibilities so they can continue to run a successful business. We have taken on feedback from the first event held in May and have lined up some great speakers who we hope attendees will find informative.
“We want collaborative relationships between housing landlords and letting agents and other agencies and organisations, so that we can all work together for the good of landlords and tenants alike.”
Entry to the forum is free and there is no need to register in advance. For more information, please visit www.daventrydc.gov.uk/landlordsforum or email firstname.lastname@example.org
