People who enjoy visiting Daventry Country Park are being asked to support its bid for a national award.

As a Green Flag Award winner, the park has been entered into the 2018 People’s Choice Awards – an opportunity for the public to vote for their favourite green space.

Voting has now opened and will run until Sunday 30 September, with the top ten winning sites announced on 16 October.

The Country Park, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, received its latest Green Flag Award in July. It has now been awarded the prestigious status 18 times in the past 19 years.

Councillor Alan Hills, Community, Culture and Leisure Portfolio Holder at Daventry District Council, said: “We are extremely proud of the park’s Green Flag status, and it would be wonderful to crown that achievement by winning a place in the top ten of this year’s People’s Choice Award.

“I would ask anyone who enjoys visiting the park to spend a moment voting for it in these national awards, so that we can demonstrate to the nation what a great, popular country park we have here in Daventry.”
