Councillor Richard Auger is to become the new Leader of Daventry District Council (DDC) when Councillor Chris Millar resigns from the role at the end of this month.
Councillor Adam Brown has been chosen to replace Councillor Liz Griffin as Deputy Leader when she also steps down on 31 October.
The formal announcement was made by the Council’s Conservative group at the Full Council meeting on Thursday 10 October.
Councillor Auger (pictured left above) was elected as a councillor for Welford Ward on the District Council in May 2015 and has held the Housing and Environmental Health Portfolio since 2017. He also serves as a county councillor for the Daventry West Division.
Councillor Brown (pictured right above) has represented Weedon Ward on DDC since May 2016 and has served as Chairman of the Scrutiny and Improvement Committee. He also represents Bugbrooke Division on the County Council.
Councillors Auger and Brown will start their new roles on November 1.
Both Councillor Millar and Councillor Griffin made the decision to step down in August to allow a new leadership team looking to stand for election to the new unitary council to represent DDC. They will continue to be Daventry District ward councillors.
