A by-election for a seat on Daventry District Council will be held in October following the resignation of Councillor Aiden Ramsey.

The by-election for Abbey North Ward will take place on Thursday, 24 October after three candidates were nominated to contest the seat.

People in the Abbey North Ward area of Daventry will be able to vote, provided they are registered. Abbey North Ward includes Middlemore, Timken, the Headlands, Drayton Park and part of Ashby Fields.

Residents in the ward who are not already registered to vote have until 8 October to do so if they wish to have their say in this by-election. People can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
