Statement of Accounts
Local authorities are required to publish their Statement of Accounts, to give clear information to electors, tax payers, members of the authority and other interested parties about the Council's finances.
The Statement of Accounts is required to give a true and fair view of the financial position and transactions of the authority which have taken place within the preceding year, being made up of the Accounting Statements, Statement of Accounting Policies and also any relevant notes to the accounts. Additionally, where the authority makes changes to it's Accounting Policies, or where the requirements of CIPFA's Code of Practice are not met, then there should be full disclosure and quantification within the statement.
Statements of Accounts are produced and published unaudited by 31st May and, re-published by 31st July each year once audited.

The aim of the Council's Summary of Accounts is to give electors, tax payers, members of the authority and other interested parties a clear and concise picture of the authorities finances by collating and publishing key statistics and information, in a shorter and user friendly format.
Summary of Accounts publications include sections on both Revenue and Capital Income and Expenditure, and is incorporated within the Council's Annual Review, which shows how the Council is performing.

Audit of Accounts Inspection Notice
In accordance with sections 25-31 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and sections 14-15 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, the Council's Accounts and other specified documents are to made available for inspection by members of the public local government electors.
