Paying rent on your home

We appreciate this is a difficult time for tenants, particularly people employed on zero hour contracts, or those who have lost their jobs or been furloughed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

However all tenants are still liable for rent and you should continue to pay this as usual. Rent is a priority debt and you could be at risk of eviction if you do not pay. Do not put your home at risk.

Disposal of personal waste

If you are showing symptoms of Coronavirus, personal waste such as used tissues and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin. Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.

Beware of fraud

Unfortunately a number coronavirus-related frauds have emerged, including online shopping and charity scams. Advice and guidance to help you avoid falling victim to one of these scams can be found on our Coronavirus Fraud page
