The Housing Strategy Team is responsible for a number of strategic housing functions which include
- Developing and delivering a range of housing policies for Daventry District
- Assessing housing need across the district
- Enabling the provision of new homes across Daventry District

The Allocations Scheme sets out the way in which Daventry District Council assesses applications for affordable housing and prioritises them on a Housing Register. Applicants that are eligible and have been accepted on to the register can then express an interest for properties that suit their needs and requirements by placing a 'bid' on properties, this is done through Daventry District Councils, Choice Based Lettings Scheme called Daventry HomeChoice.
The Council may from time to time consider the use of a Local Lettings Arrangement (LLA).
An LLA provides an open and transparent framework, setting out any variations to the Allocations Scheme so that local needs and circumstances are taken into consideration where appropriate.

A Scheme that supports Daventry District Council’s proactive and flexible approach to prevent and relieve homelessness. Allowing the Council to offer financial assistance to those that are homeless or threatened with homelessness (subject to eligibility criteria).

The Housing SPD provides policy guidance on the provision of the housing within the district. It adds detail to the Saved Policies and West Northants Joint Core Strategy Policies. It will be used to inform The Council's approach to the determination of planning applications for housing within Daventry District. This document replaces the Affordable Housing SPD.

This policy provides detail of financial assistance, in the form of grants and loans, that is administered by the Council through Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and Home Repair Assistance (HRA).
The Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment quantifies the accommodation and housing related support needs of Gypsies and Travellers (including Travelling Showpeople) in West Northamptonshire.
