Adopted: July 2017 (reviewed January 2020)
The Allocations Scheme sets out the way in which Daventry District Council assesses applications for affordable housing and prioritises them on a Housing Register. Applicants that are eligible and have been accepted on to the register can then express an interest for properties that suit their needs and requirements by placing a bid on properties, this is done through Daventry District Councils, Choice Based Lettings Scheme called Daventry HomeChoice.
Urgent update in response to COVD-19: Following Government guidance, and in order to assist and support our partner agencies who have had to take various precautions to protect their tenants and staff, the Council has reviewed the allocation of properties under this scheme.
With immediate effect (from April 2020), the Council took a temporary approach, which will exist until we are in a position to revert to our former approach. This is in response to the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The temporary approach means that any new properties that become available are prioritised for those most in need.
Local Lettings Arrangement
The Council may from time to time consider the use of a Local Lettings Arrangement (LLA).
An LLA provides an open and transparent framework, setting out any variations to the Allocations Scheme so that local needs and circumstances are taken into consideration where appropriate.
There are no current Local Lettings Arrangements.
