Fraud reporting

Whistle-blowing is one of the top sources of information by which public bodies identify and stop frauds.  If you have reason to believe that either: 

  • a Councillor

  • a Council employee

  • a contractor or supplier to the council

  • a member of the public


is behaving dishonestly or fraudulently, you should raise your concerns. This could be anything from giving false information to claim grants or benefits, or staff / councillors receiving inducements or rewards to influence decisions etc. 

If you know or suspect that someone is claiming Housing Benefit and / or Council Tax Reduction which they aren't entitled to, please report it.

Alternatively, you can let us know your concerns by calling our Confidential Anti-Fraud Hotline (run by Expolink, an external organisation) on 0800 731 6202. This number can be used in confidence, and can be used anonymously if you so wish.
