The council is committed to developing a culture where everyone, whether customers or employees, feel they are treated with fairness and dignity. The council is constantly improving the way it measures and manages the performance of its services to deliver improvements.
Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG)
The Equality Framework for Local Government is used by councils to help ensure compliance with the statutory duties within the Equality Act 2010.
There are three levels against which councils can self-assess: Developing, Achieving and Excellent. Daventry District Council has self assessed as Achieving. Click here to view the self assessment.
What do the different levels reflect?
At the Developing stage, the council needs to be making plans to work more effectively, developing systems and processes to highlight any areas of inequality.
At the Achieving stage the council needs to have put systems and processes into practice.
At the Excellent stage the council will be able to show that improvements are happening as a result of working to good practice.
How do we monitor our equalities performance?
A report is submitted to the Senior Management Team annually to show any changes in our workforce diversity, progress against our Corporate Equality Plan and the Equality Framework for Local Government.
