A three year strategy setting out how crime in rural areas will be addressed was launched earlier this year.
It was developed by the multi- agency Rural Crime Group which directs work to fight rural crime in the county. The Group partners are:
-
Northamptonshire Police
-
The Community Safety Partnerships in each of the Districts
-
The Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner
-
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue
-
Country Landowners Association
-
National Farmers' Union
-
Canal and River Trust
-
Northamptonshire ACRE
-
Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Watch
The Daventry District and South Northamptonshire Community Safety Partnership chairs The Rural Crime Action Group Meeting, the aim of which is to reassure the farming community, increase reporting, promote partnership response and reduce rural crime. The role of the Group is to manage the response to rural crime in both Districts and it may expand to a County wide group.
