Daventry District Sports Awards 2019

Daventry District Council's leisure partner Everyone Active holds the Daventry Sports Awards to shine the spotlight on the District's talented sportspeople. 


2019 Sports Awards

This year's awards will be presented on Thursday 24 October 2019 at the Saxon Suite at Daventry Leisure Centre. Awards will be presented in each of the following categories:

  • Community Club of the Year
  • Community Sports/Activity Group
  • Team of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Young Leader of the Year
  • Sports School of the Year
  • Young Sportsperson
  • Disabled Sportsperson
  • Local Sportsperson
  • Lifetime Contribution to Sport

The 16th annual awards were held on Thursday 18 October 2018 at Daventry Leisure Centre, when Northampton Saints and Samoa international rugby player Ken Pisi was on hand to present the accolades.

Dozens of clubs, groups and individuals were nominated across 13 categories, with more than 130 people attending the ceremony, hosted by BBC Northampton’s Martin Heath.

The winners were:

Team of The Year - Daventry Tigers Senior Girls Patterns Team

Coach of The Year - Saffron Small

Sport School of The Year - Flore CE Primary School

Young Leader of The Year - William O’Toole

Volunteer of The Year - Saffron Small

Young Sportswoman of The Year - Lauren Hughes

Young Sportsman of The Year - Thomas Symons 

Disabled Sports Person of The Year - Kian Saville

Local Sportsman - Kevin Michael Jane

Local Sportswoman - Annette Russell 

Lifetime Contribution to Sport - Jackson White

Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Community Sports and Activity - Alan Hills
