About Daventry Country Park

Daventry Country Park is a popular park ideally situated in the urban fringe of Daventry, within one mile of the town centre and easily accessible by car, bicycle or on foot with the benefit of cycle ways and footpaths from the surrounding areas.    

With a large reservoir, a cafe selling hot and cold food, an adventure playground, outdoor gym equipment, numerous picnic spots, a nature trail, accessible bird hides, and a wealth of wildlife, Daventry Country Park is a great family day out. 

The Park has been awarded the Country Parks Accreditation and also holds a Green Flag Award recognising it as being among the best green spaces in the country.

The Country Park has undergone a major programme of improvements to its play area, paths and walkways, the cafe area and its toilet facilities. In addition a new project to improve the meadow paths and install flood prevention measures at the meadow pond has been completed along with new fencing for the play area. The project to replace the jetty is ongoing. 

Improvement are also being made to the car park payment machines, providing a improved system and relocating the machines to reduce break-downs.

Country Park management plan

To enable development of Daventry Country Park, a Management plan has been put into place; this plan takes a medium term strategic view of the site (until 2023) and outlines a number of ways in which the park can further contribute to the community and wider social, health, well-being, environmental and economic renewal objectives.
