New venue for Daventry Job Club

The first meeting of the Daventry Job Club in 2012 will be held in a new location later this month.

The Job Club was established in 2010 to give people living in the district free advice and support on a range of issues that may affect their opportunities for future employment or progression.

There is a wealth of guidance available from improving interview techniques and CV writing, to finding the right training opportunities.

The club has now grown to a membership of nearly 200 people and is being relaunched for 2012 at its brand new venue in Daventry Library on Friday, February 24, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Jobseekers living outside Daventry will also be able to take advantage of the Long Buckby Job Club launching at the village library on Friday, March 9, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Councillor Chris Over, Economy, Employment and Regeneration Portfolio Holder at Daventry District Council, said: “We are holding the job club in another location in Daventry for the first time later this month and hope that even more people will go along to see the wealth of excellent support and advice they can receive.

“The club will then be visiting Long Buckby for the first time in March, as part of our continued drive to take the job club to more rural areas of the district.

“These tough economic times have not gone away but the club has helped hundreds of people since it first launched and we will continue to provide this important service.”

A free workshop providing to help people start their own business will also be held at Daventry Job Club in the Library in North Street on February 24.
