New self-service trial in Council’s One Stop Shop

Daventry District Council is currently trialing a new ‘self service’ approach to customer information in its One Stop Shop.

The Council’s Customer Services team began trialing the new system in its Lodge Road offices on Monday, January 23.

Self-service areas have been set up next to the Council’s reception desk where customers can log on to its website.

Customer Advisors will be on hand to talk to visitors, explain how the new system works and show people how they can navigate around the website to get the information they need.

Customers will also be asked for feedback on their experience as they leave the building.

Councillor Colin Poole, Daventry District Council’s Communications and Access Portfolio Holder, said: “A new self serve approach will help us to improve efficiency and ensure that our customers get quicker access to the information they need, and also help improve the awareness and use of our new-look website.

“For example if our advisors show customers how to use the website to download a form they need to fill in, the next time they will be able to do it online at home rather than have to make the journey into Daventry.

“The trial will be reviewed regularly and we will carefully consider all the feedback we receive from customers about the new arrangements.”

Residents are also advised that payments at the Council Offices are coming to an end at the end of March, when its Cash Office will be closing.

People will able to pay via direct debit, at the post office and paypoints on its website, and using its dedicated 24 hour telephone payment line.
