Daventry District Council’s website has a bright new look.
The new site has extra features and more chances for visitors to interact with the Council.
The redesigned website has a greater focus on self-service tasks in response to more residents going online to access Council services. Its improved navigation makes it easier for people to pay online, get advice and report issues as well as locating information about the Council and its services more quickly.
The new navigation also paves the way for future developments such as mapping, video, e-payments, e-bookings and social media applications.
Councillor Colin Poole, Communications & Access Portfolio Holder for Daventry District Council, said: “The Council’s website is playing an increasingly important role in the way residents access our services at their own convenience and will continue to do so in the future.
“Redesigning the site enables the Council to add more of its services online and provides easier and faster access to the most popular tasks that people come to our website to do. The old website had become cluttered with far too much information that had built up over time and the clearer design and navigation makes the site more user-friendly.
“Because the new site has been created in-house using existing resources, the cost to the taxpayer has been minimal. But in the future as more people choose to go online they will be helping to save taxpayers' money as transactions via the website are far more cost effective than other methods of contacting the Council.”
