Daventry District Council has linked up with Anglian Water to give local residents the chance to buy water butts at a reduced price. The water butts, in 190-litre and100-litre sizes, come with a diverter kit and stand which lets you divert rainwater from your guttering into the container.
They are child safe and have a tap to allow you to easily fill the watering can to keep the plants and lawn moist through the summer.
Alice Pearce, Environmental Coordinator with Daventry District Council, said: “Water butts are a fantastic way of collecting rainwater to use during drier times.
“We can only offer the discount to the first 200 orders and it is only available to Daventry district residents – so we recommend you get your order before the next downpour!”
A rainsaver kit, including the 190-litre butt, converter kit and stand, is available to Daventry district residents with an additional £10 off the already discounted rate of £39.95, making it just £29.95. The normal retail price is £60. The smaller butts can be bought for £24.95.
Please note that the discount of £10 to Daventry district residents is per order, not per water butt – but if you order one water butt, you can get a second for half price (£19.98 for the 190 litre kit and £17.48 for the 100 litre mini butt kit.)
