Calling all licensees – don’t risk not being able to open later over the Christmas period

All licensees and managers of pubs and clubs are being urged by the Northamptonshire Licensing Partnership to check their opening hours for Christmas and the New Year by looking at their Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate.

So check your licence and be sure of a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Certain premises with special conditions in their licence* are allowed to open from start of business on New Years Eve till closing time New Years Day.

But all other licensees must submit a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) at least ten working days before they want to open longer.  A copy of the TEN must be sent to the police and to the licensing partnership at East Northamptonshire Council.  Due to the council offices closing over Christmas, licensees must submit applications as soon as possible.  Without the correct licence or TEN, licensees cannot open past the hours stated in their licences.
