There is increasing interest by commercial operators in establishing wind turbines to help create electricity from this renewable source. Groups of wind turbines are known as wind farms. In common with other Districts in Northamptonshire and elsewhere in the UK several applications for test masts or turbines themselves have been made in Daventry District.
Although not formally part of the Local Development Framework, Daventry District Council has produced Interim Guidelines when assessing proposals for the development of Wind Turbines.
