What are Job Clubs?
A job club is a group that meet for support as they hunt for a job. Partners are on hand to offer practical help and advice.
How much does it cost?
It is a free service, run by volunteers for the community.
At these sessions, people can get support in four main ways:
-
The chance to search for local job vacancies using the internet and local newspapers
-
A chance to meet with other job seekers and share networks and experiences
-
Links to statutory agencies and other local employment agencies
-
Assistance with CV writing, interview skills and general advice
What to expect at the Job Club
When you arrive at the club, you will be met by one of our friendly volunteers who will take your details and give you your welcome pack to help you get started on your job hunt.
You will receive a free USB memory stick, to save all those important documents, a black ink pen to write out your application forms and some helpful information and advice from partners along with a handy wallet to store it all in.
Once you have registered, you are welcome to have a look around or get straight in. There will be partners on hand to give you any help or advice as well as laptops and newspapers to begin your search when you feel ready. Advisors will be on hand to help you set up a free email account if required as well as help you navigate your way around a computer and the world wide web.
