Since the Homelessness Act 2002 all Local Authorities have had to develop a Homelessness Strategy.
At Daventry District Council we aim to meet our statutory (legal) requirements and also go beyond this by working closely with partners to seek innovative solutions to homelessness issues local to Daventry District.
Strategy and Policy:
The Daventry District Homelessness Strategy sets out our priorities for 2008-2013. It has three broad aims which are to:
-
Prevent Homelessness
-
Provide Sufficient Accommodation
-
Provide Support
We are achieving this through a number of ways, to read a copy of the 2008-2013 Homelessness Strategy,

Partnership Working:
The Council works with a wide range of agencies that deal with homelessness and housing issues over a wide range of client groups. We have set up a cross authority (Daventry District and South Northants) Steering Group that meets and discuss recent trends in homelessness as well as various working groups that look more closely at certain problems, like homelessness prevention.
For more information about these groups or to get involved, please contact the Local Strategy Service
