In 2007, Daventry District Council transferred it's stock to a Social Landlord (Daventry District Housing) and as a result does not sell or let affordable housing. Our role is now enabling affordable housing to be built to meet the needs and specifications of the people of Daventry District.
What is affordable housing?
"Affordable Housing" includes two broad types of housing:

Affordable Rent, where housing is owned and managed by Registered Providers (RPs) or Local Authorities. These properties are rented out at affordable rent levels.

Shared Ownership/Equity Homes (Buying part of a Property): these are properties which sit above affordable rent properties but below the Open Market levels, such as Shared Ownership (or HomeBuy) schemes and other Intermediate Rent properties.
How do I get Affordable Housing?
To Rent:
If you are looking for affordable housing to rent - then you first need to be on the Common Housing Register or the "Waiting list", which is administered by Daventry District Council. Follow the link, or use the contact details below to find out how to register:

To Buy
If you are interested in buying a shared ownership or other affordable home ownership property, then you still need to be on the Common Housing Register (Waiting List), but you also need to contact a "Zone Agent" who handles the nominations (selection process) for Shared Ownership Properties.
What is a Zone Agent?
A Zone Agent is normally a Registered Providers who advertise Shared Ownership Properties (normally new properties) on behalf of other RP's.
The Northamptonshire zone is EMHomeBuy, which advertise and nominate people for Affordable Shared Ownership Properties.
