Council Tax - Ways to Pay

Under legislation all Council Tax  are entitled to pay their bill by ten monthly instalments but each local authority can determine what date of the month the instalments are due.  Daventry District Council has set their payment date as 1st of each month. If you wish to pay half yearly you can do this by paying the first 5 instalments by April 1st and the other 5 by September 1st.

Direct Debit

This is the authority's preferred method of payment and if you chose to pay by Direct Debit you can change your payment date to the 1st; 8th or 15th of the month. This means that if it suits your finances you can pay later than the 1st of the month as well as having the added peace of mind which direct debit brings. To set up a Direct Debit On-Line please click here (opens in a new window). Alternatively you can call the Local Tax team on 01327 302293 to set it up over the phone. Please have your council tax reference, bank account number and sort code to hand.
