Council tax appeals - liability, discounts and exemptions

 

If you disagree with some aspect of a council tax bill because you do not think you are liable for the council tax for that dwelling or you think an exemption or a discount should be applied, you must first contact the Revenues Team at Daventry District Council explaining what the problem is.

 

We should send you a written reply within two months and, if we do not agree with you, you can then appeal to The Valuation Tribunal. If you decide to appeal, you must contact them within two months of our decision and include a copy of our decision with your appeal form.

 

If we do not write back to you within two months, you can still appeal to The Valuation Tribunal, as long as not more than four months have passed since you wrote to us in the first place.
