Helping people of all ages to lead active, healthy lives, is a top priority for Daventry District Council's Sports Development Team. In this area you will find details on a range of activities, sessions and initiatives aimed at increasing sport and physical activity - and having some fun too!
The Recreation Team host a number of events throughout the District as well as organising half term activities for Children aged 8-15 years.
The Run ‘10 is Northamptonshire’s biggest mass participation run that reflects all the great and good things about Northamptonshire, its ambitions, history, growth and heritage. The Run ’10 takes place on 3rd October and will start and finish at Sixfields Stadium, Northampton. There will be 10km and 5km routes plus 1km and 2km for children. Take some steps towards a healthier lifestyle with a series of walks planned around Daventry District.
A fully qualified nordic walking instructor will be delivering a five-week 'Learn to Nordic Walk' course which will take place at Brixworth Country Park. The 5 week course will cost £15 which includes pole hire for the duration of the course. The course will take place from 10-11am, meeting at Brixworth Country Park car park, on Wednesday 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th September, and 6th October.
