Countryside

Daventry Country Park was officially opened in June 1978. It is ideally situated in the urban fringe of Daventry within 1 mile of the town centre on the B4036, easily accessible by care and with the benefit of cycle ways and footpaths from the residential areas.

It is centred on the old Daventry Reservoir which is one of two reservoirs in Daventry, the other being Drayton Reservoir. The Country Park has an attractive setting, the irregular shape of the reservoir, the undulating nature of the topography and presence of mature trees give the appearance of a natural lake, pleasant views both of the surrounding countryside and to the town centre are seen from many points on the banks.

As well as the Country Park, Daventry District Council is responsible for Borough Hill, Daventry and Cracks Hill near Crick.
