Daventry District Council is a Signatory to the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change. On 12th October 2006, representatives from Daventry District Council signed the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change. The Nottingham Declaration is a commitment to reduce our carbon emissions by adopting greater energy efficiency measures and increasing travel by encouraging walking, cycling, car-sharing and public transport use. It is also about adopting renewable energy technologies in the district and building adaptation requirements into existing and new developments.
