Climate Friendly Communities

Daventry District Council along with its partners across Northamptonshire, is developing a project to encourage and support local communities to reduce their environmental impact, with a particular focus on carbon dioxide emissions which is the main factor in climate change.

The two objectives for this project are:

• Raise community awareness of climate change

• Encourage community action to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions

Although the main focus will be on carbon dioxide, other environmental issues including other greenhouse gases, eg methane from landfill, and waste reduction and recycling will also be incorporated into the project.
