Litter Bins

There is no need to drop litter or fail to remove your dogs waste, as there are approximately 750 litter bins and 250 dog located throughout the district, all of which are emptied regularly, and new bins are being installed regularly. Place your rubbish in a litter bin or if there isn't a bin nearby take your rubbish home.

Actions taken by Daventry District Council

Litter, cigarette and dog bins across the district are emptied fortnightly following the implimentation of the new street cleansing rounds. Bins within larger villages will be emptied more frequently.

The schedules for emptying the bins are detailed below in the attached links. Litter, cigarette and dog bins within the town centre will continue to be emptied daily.

Cigarette Bins

A number of new cigarette bins can be found around the town centre to encourage people to 'stub out' their cigarette ends and place them in suitable bins. Many people are unaware dropping cigarette butts is an illegal activity as they are now classed as litter under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act 2005. Please ensure that you use these bins for your waste to reduce the about of litter on our streets.

Please contact us on the contact details below to report any litter bins which need emptying or any areas which need littering picking and we will endeavour to clear away all litter on public land across the district.
