Only the Mail you Want

Daventry District Council's guide to reducing unwanted mail Each week the average household receives 18 pieces of junk mail, most of which ends up in landfill. 550,000 tonnes of junk mail is generated in the UK every year. 1 tonne of junk mail is the equivalent of 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water and 390 gallons of oil are used.

Real Nappies

This scheme has been set up to say thank you to parents who are using real washable nappies on their babies rather than disposables, therefore reducing the amount of plastic disposables being used once and thrown away in landfill.

When you purchase a pack of washable nappies from any company, or subscribe to a nappy laundry service and spend over £60,  Northamptonshire County Council will give you £25 back.  The saving in landfill tax. Click here for more details
