Great Green Giveaway

A compost giveaway day is being held in March to thank residents for continuing to support DDC’s brown bin collections. 

Ten tonnes of top quality soil improver from the Council’s green waste collections will be available free of charge for Daventry District residents on Saturday, March 13.

The giveaway will be limited to 3 bags per household and will be given on a first come, first served basis.

It’s being held at the Old Outdoor Pool Car park in Daventry from 10am to 3pm and residents are asked to take along a shovel and sturdy bags.

A voluntary donation will be collected for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance on the day, while the Council’s Waste Strategy Team will on hand to offer further advice on home composting.

Home Composting Offer 2009/10

We are pleased to announce that our new scheme in association  with Straight has now started. Compost bins and accessories are available via the web, by phone and by mail at very competitive prices. Prices start from £13.50 for a 220 litre bin. This scheme will run until the end of March 2010.

The first 2000 customers will get a further introductory discount.
