Planning - Local Development Framework

The Local Development Framework is the name given to the new system of Development Plan introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. Rather than a single plan, the Local Development Framework comprises a collection of inter-related documents, namely:

• A Local Development Scheme
• A Statement of Community Involvement

A number of Local Development Documents, which are either

• Development Plan Documents, or
• Supplementary Planning Documents; and
• Annual Monitoring Report

Development Plan documents have to be supported by an evidence base.
