Parks and Open Spaces - general information

The Council undertakes maintenance of parks and open spaces within the Daventry Town boundaries.

 

This includes;

Grass Cutting

Daventry District Council are responsible for grass cutting on parks and open spaces within Daventry Town. Also highway verges are maintained on behalf of the County Council. The majority of grass areas are fly cut which means that cuttings are not collected. Grass that falls on surrounding paths, should be removed to ensure paths are clear.

 

Tree Maintenance

Daventry District Council are responsible for all trees on parks and open spaces within Daventry Town. Also Highway trees are maintained on behalf of the County Council. Trees are managed by pruning to remove dead and diseased wood, to clear roads and footpaths, and to clear physical obstructions.

 

Hedges and Shrubs

Daventry District Council are responsible for shrubs and hedges on parks and open spaces within Daventry Town. Also highway shrubs and hedges are maintained on behalf of the County Council. If vegetation is encroaching from private property it should be reported to County Council through the Street Doctor web site.

 

Playgrounds

Daventry District Council are responsible for 40 play areas within Daventry Town. Click for more information
