Code of conduct - complaints process

 Changes to the complaints procedure

From 8th May 2008 the responsibility for considering complaints that a Member may have breached the Code of Conduct moved to the Standards Committees of local authorities.

What this means to you

After 8th May 2008 if you want to complain about the conduct of a Member of Daventry District Council or a Member of either the Town Council or one of the Parish Councils within the district, you must submit your complaint to:

Chairman of the Assessment Sub-committee

The Standards Committee

c/o Elections and Governance Manager

Daventry District Council

Lodge Road

Daventry

Northants.

NN11 4FP

The Assessment Sub-committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a Member. It will not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the Members’ Code of Conduct.  If you make a complaint to the Assessment Sub-committee it must be about why you think a member has not followed the Code of Conduct.  If you wish to make a complaint, please complete the Complaint Form and submit it electronically to the Monitoring Officer - jgregory@daventrydc.gov.uk or by post to the above address.

If you have any queries regarding the Code of Conduct, please contact Mr. David Parry, Elections and Governance Manager, Daventry District Council, Lodge Road, Daventry, Northants. NN11 4FP (telephone number 01327 302311).
