Daventry District Council and Rugby Borough Council are working together to develop a new crematorium facility on the edge of Rugby. The plans follow a Rugby Borough Council study which found that there was both a community need and a viable business case for such a facility.
The site area planned to accommodate the crematorium and the initial phase of the cemetery is to the rear of the St Andrews Rugby Club off Ashlawn Road, Rugby, to the east of the Great Central Way Nature Reserve and cycleway.
A detailed planning application has now been submitted to the Local Planning Authority (Rugby Borough Council).
