Options for the site's development, which will be predominantly retails and leisure, are currently being considered. Discussions with the developer, Henry Boot Plc, are taking place to determine the best mix of uses that will create a vibrant and viable scheme. The site will be an extension to the existing town centre and careful consideration will be given to the linkages between the two areas and to the other development sites, including the proposed waterside development on Site 3 and the Learning Quarter on Site 6. The development of this site also relates to the proposals that are being taken forward, by Henry Boot, on Site 1, which is a retail scheme and library to the rear of High Street.
