Parking on the Road

Northamptonshire Police are responsible for enforcing parking regulations on all roads in  Daventry District and within Daventry town. This includes double yellow lines, disabled bays, zig-zag lines at pedestrian crossings, etc., and also where a vehicle may be causing an obstruction.

It is anticipated that responsibility for enforcing on-street parking regulations will eventually transfer from the Police to Northamptonshire County Council under decriminalised powers ('decrim parking'). This should enable the County Council  to provide a better parking enforcement service and the police to concentrate on other matters of concern to the public, such as burglary and anti-social behaviour.  However, for now only the Police can carry out on-street enforcement in Daventry District.
