The Environmental Protection Act

- Duty of Care

- Responsibility to contain waste on site

- Trade waste agreements

- Waste transfer notes for all waste disposed off.

- Consignment notes for moving waste

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations

WEEE applies to electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) listed with a voltage of up to 1000 volts for alternating current or up to 1500 volts for direct current. This apples if you generate, handle or dispose of waste that falls under one of ten categories of WEEE.

Control of pollution Act 1989

All businesses have the responsibility to ensure correct measures are taken to control waste and to reduce the pollution caused from processes and movement of waste.

Any businesses who carry waste should be registered with the Environment Agency. Failure to comply is a breach of this act.

Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005
