Environmental Health - Out of Hours Emergencies

There is an Environmental Health Officer available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year because environmental health problems involving serious events, fatalities, imminent risks to health or acute pollution of the Environment don't always occur during office hours.

Although each call is an emergency to the caller, the majority received can be dealt with by advice or referral to a more appropriate service, but the duty officer will always be available and will visit to take the necessary enforcement action. This service is well used by residents who become aggrieved in evenings, weekends and over the holiday periods when the offices are closed.
