Place Survey

The “Place Survey” - asking what Northamptonshire residents think of their local area.

Between 25th September and 15th December, people across the country will be having a say about their local area in a programme of major surveys called the Place Survey.

Surveys will be sent out to over 3,000 randomly selected households across Daventry district, giving residents the opportunity to share their views and experiences on a series of important themes:

  • The local area
  • Local public services
  • Information people receive from local public bodies
  • Local decision-making and how good the opportunities are to get involved
  • Helping out and getting involved – finding out about voluntary work in the community
  • Respect and consideration- how well people get on in their communities
  • Community safety

If you receive a questionnaire in the post, please complete it and encourage anyone else you know who gets one to do the same.

We need as many people as possible to respond to the survey, so we get views from a real cross-section of Daventry district residents. You won’t be able to miss them, they’ll be yellow!

Initially the findings will be used by each of the councils and the police for planning and for reviewing priorities, based on better understanding the views of local people. But they are likely to be of interest and value to many others around the county. Our inspectors will also use them to help rate how well local public bodies are working to meet local needs.
