Investors in People

The Standard helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people. The Investors in People (IIP) Standard is based on three key principles:

 

  • Plan – Developing strategies to improve the performance of the organisation
  • Do – Taking action to improve the performance of the organisation
  • Review – Evaluating the impact on the performance of the organisation

Daventry District Council first achieved the Investors In People standard in 1998. It has representatives from all areas of the authority on the IIP Working Group, who meet once a month. The group assess designated areas, interviewing the staff to ensure there is consistency throughout the authority. These assessments focus on training and communication.
