This page contains any news and updates to Housing and Council Tax Benefit Laws and Procedures that may affect your entitlement.

Local Housing Allowances

Local Housing Allowance is a new way of working out new claims for Housing Benefit for tenants renting accommodation from a private landlord. It also affects tenants already getting Housing Benefit who move into accommodation rented from a private landlord. Local Housing Allowance is being introduced on 7 April 2008. If you live in council accommodation or other social housing, Local Housing Allowance will not affect you.

Application Forms

You can now download a copy of our Housing & Council Tax Benefit claim form by clicking here.

Please note, all claim forms must be fully completed and returned, by post, to the address below.  Housing and Council Tax Benefit entitlement will only normally start from the Monday after the date we receive a signed and completed claim form.  Any delay in returning the form may therefore result in a loss of entitlement.
